About Me

My name is Sadie Meadows and I am a student at the College of William and Mary. I am in my third year of seeking degrees in Psychology and Gender, Sexuality, Women’s Studies. I’m currently participating in an internship with the Department of Social Services in Orange County, Virginia.

This blog will recount some of my adventures at DSS (within the context of my confidentiality agreement) and will hopefully provide some insight into how particular programs within DSS work, what benefits are for which situations, what changes in policies can be made to better benefit marginalized populations, and what steps this department is making to better help the clients with whom they are already working. This will certainly be a learning experience for me but I’m hoping that I’m not the only one getting something from my time here.
